Timber fencing and gates are still popular in our local area, however, there are various reason why these are falling out of fashion. Timber is an extremely versatile material for fencing and gates. It can be decorative, basic and anything in between. A wooden gate blends in very well with the natural world too. However, wood is particularly susceptible to moisture. It also needs to be coated and sealed. Then, there are the termites and fungi to consider! Also, a wooden gate will perhaps only last 10 years or so, providing it’s properly maintained. It can also warp and crack. When you opt for a timber gate, you’re taking on a whole lot of extra work for yourself. It’s for these reasons, Maher’s Fencing offers many different, cost-effective alternatives.

Here, at Maher’s Fencing we offer many different styles of gates. 3 of our most popular are the:
- Pedestrian – manufactured from 6063 T6 aluminium. Powder coated using Interpon Powder Coating for excellent corrosion resistance and strength.
- Double – Double gates come with double doors. These are also manufactured from 6063 T6 aluminium and boast the same powder coating as our Pedestrian gates. All Double gates require a gate latch fitted to one gate and a drop bolt on the other.
- Automated – We can supply and fit state-of-the-art motors and gate automation to suit most applications.
